Yorkshire Association of the Young Farmers Club

Young Farmers Club is a club with age enriched traditions and values. People of the age group 10 to 26 are eligible to join. This organization is open to anyone regardless of the ethnicity, religion or professional occupation. It offers a wide variety of skills ranging from organizing meetings to sports.

Young Farmers Club provides members with an opportunity to have a more dynamic lifestyle and to take part in activities related to the local community, it also provides an exciting chance for members to travel abroad and to take part in competitions such as sports, debating skills at different levels like county and national. The Young Farmers Club is divided into 51 federations in England and Wales.

The Yorkshire Young Farmers Club provides for an international travel and exchange programme named as discovery, on signing up for which members get to travel abroad, get acquainted with people of different cultures and their countries. The duration of the trip may vary from 7 days to about half a year. At present trips are available to Australia, France, Germany and Scotland.

The club also runs a programme known as skills for life which aims at developing diverse life skills such as cooking, fertilizers, photography, animal husbandry, horticulture, dance, personality-development, and language communication. It is also an opportunity to win recognized awards and discover the untapped potential present in you.

The club also provides for survival guides to the: 1. Chairman of the club indicating his position and responsibility towards the club. It also insists that he must be up-to date with all the current events and is primarily responsible for the up-lifting of the team morale. 2. Secretary of the club for correspondence and competition entry forms. 3. Treasurer of the club indicating his responsibility towards the finances of the clubs. He must also maintain complete records of all the financial transactions.
